Annual Aegis Robotics STEM Fair

A fun event to spread STEM in our community

Aegis Robotics hosts an annual STEM Fair to provide an opportunity for those in our community to experience just how fun and interesting STEM can be.

Description

Through partnering with George Mason's Center for Restructuring Education in Science and Technology, Aegis Robotics was able to host its first annual STEM Fair this past November.

At the fair, over 600 visitors were able to learn more about STEM and thinking like an engineer by interacting with our 40 STEM booths, talking to a few of our sponsors about their ongoing projects, and watching demonstrations and FTC scrimmages.

Activities were available for all ages with booths ranging from building sturdy structures to learning basic programming to using physics instruments. These booths were operated by members of Aegis Robotics, members of the 7 FTC teams the team mentors, and volunteers.

The 7 FTC teams (5 high school and 2 middle school teams) competed in scrimmages, allowing the visitors to see how the robots worked and ask members questions about the processes. Children and parents alike were intrigued to learn more about FIRST.
