Tesseract Initiative
Fueling youth innovation through interdisciplinary education
Our educational programs and collaborative projects spark interest in interdisciplinary work among kids and teens, helping them develop confidence and skills to address challenges in emergent ways.
Tesseract Initiative works to bridge conventional divides between, and foster mutual respect and appreciation among, kids and teens of different disciplines and skills, empowering them to tackle challenges with tenacity and inventiveness, and helping them broaden their career options. We think some of the most interesting possibilities and projects emerge from interactions and collisions between different disciplines, and want to encourage more of those sparks to fly in the future. Students in our programs walk away with valuable experience in working & succeeding together, increased versatility & adaptability for their careers, and more courage & confidence.
Started and proudly run by a multidisciplinary coalition of FIRST students, alumni, and mentors from teams across Northern California, we hope to give back to the FIRST community by inspiring students to apply what they're learning in FIRST to the world beyond.
Most of our workshops during the summer and fall are designed and presented by a varied team of amazing, self-driven high school and college student volunteers - many from FIRST - who have demonstrated exceptional passion and emerging talent for their fields.
Through our events, we're excited to give back to the program that inspired us all so much!
