In the summer of 2018, 11062 gave a presentation at the FIRST Utah Symposium called "Girls in FIRST" After this presentation and the reaction to it, one of our members decided to take the lead and make this a large project. We want to add girls to FIRST programs, but the presentations are not just about girls in FIRST and how well they succeed, but how we have noticed that girls sometimes get pushed into non-technical roles on FIRST teams, such as outreach, notebook, fundraising, etc. We feel strongly that girls are just as successful in all aspects of FIRST and offer ways for teams to make sure the girls on their teams are being heard. We've spoken to coaches and teams in FLL, FTC, and FRC about this around the state and are excited by the response.
